A landlord in Meyerland called us the morning after Beryl: water oak through the garage roof, two more leaning the same way. By Friday all three were down, chipped and hauled, and his adjuster had our photos. That's the job: safe removal, honest price, no drama. How a Safe Tree Removal Actually Works
People picture a guy with a chainsaw yelling "timber." That's how fences die. On a typical Houston lot there's no room to fell a tree whole, so nearly everything we remove comes down in pieces, top first.
The climber ropes in, works to the top, and starts cutting sections. Each limb over anything breakable gets rigged: tied off, cut, and lowered on ropes by the ground crew instead of dropped. The trunk comes down in rounds, sometimes chunks of only two or three feet at a time when we're working over a roof. The chipper eats the brush, the grapple truck takes the wood, and the last hour is cleanup and raking. Most removals take two to six hours; big ones a full day.
When a tree is too dangerous to climb or there's nothing to rig from, we bring a crane. A crane pick costs more, but it turns the sketchiest removal into a controlled lift, and over a pool or a tile roof it's often cheaper than the damage it prevents.
What's Included, and What Costs Extra
Our standard removal quote includes the takedown, chipping, hauling off all brush and wood, and a raked site. Stump grinding is quoted separately, usually $100 to $500, so you can decide if you want it. Want the wood left for firewood?
