Crew clearing storm-fallen tree debris in a Houston yard

Derecho aftermath, Oak Forest

Beryl. The May derecho before it. The tax-day floods before that. Houston doesn't get gentle weather, and every big blow leaves the same mess: limbs across the driveway, a leaner on the fence, and a debris pile the city truck may or may not visit this month. We ran storm crews six weeks straight after Beryl. We know the drill cold.

What Storm Cleanup Covers

Downed limbs and whole downed trees, cut up and hauled. Hangers, the half-broken limbs still dangling in the canopy that everyone forgets until the next windy day, brought down safely. Leaners pulled away from fences and sheds. Root-ball uprights winched flat and removed. Brush piles chipped, whether we made them or you did. And the raking, always the raking.

What the City Claw Won't Take

After a declared storm event, Houston's debris trucks eventually come for what's on the curb, but they won't cut anything, won't come onto your property, and in practice won't take a trunk section thicker than their grapple likes. After the derecho, half of Oak Forest had logs sitting on the curb for two months. We cut to haulable size, or better, we just haul it ourselves and you're done that day.

Insurance Notes From Someone Who's Filed a Few Hundred

Photograph everything before anyone cuts, including wide shots that show what the tree hit. Keep every invoice. Removal of a tree that damaged a covered structure is usually claimable; a tree that fell in the open yard usually is not, which surprises people every single storm. We shoot our own documentation on every storm job and hand you a folder your adjuster can actually use.

Tree currently ON your house, car or blocking your only way out? That's not cleanup, that's our 24/7 emergency line. And if this storm spared you but the leaning water oak next door has you nervous, a hazard assessment before hurricane season is the cheapest peace of mind we sell.
